Punjab University (PU) is one of the best universities in India. It is established in 1882. SAIF is also called RSIC. SAIF, formerly known as RSIC at Punjab University Chandigarh was incepted in the previous years of the 6th plan. The full facilities of USIC, CIL, SAIF and RSIC are working in unison in the service of do research and also for impart sensible guidance to the students through workshops CIL/RISC/USIC the Centre also undertakes the design, production and repair of electronic instruments necessary by students and teachers from the University and the colleges around. It also runs training programmers in technical skills for the profit of scientific society and associated laboratory staff from different institutions.
