Applications are invited for Stipendiary Trainees (Category I & II) in BARC, Mysore/Mumbai.
CATEGORY – I (Stipendiary Trainee)
No. of Posts : 25 Posts (SC – 3, ST – 3, OBC – 7,UR – 12)
One post (Electronics Discipline) is reserved for Candidates with Hearing impairment with loss
of Sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. For Category I:
1. Candidates with 60 % marks in B.Sc. Chemistry and B.Sc (Electronics) will also be considered for Post No. 2 & 4 respectively.
2. Mathematics at HSC (10+2) level is essential for the post no. 5.
3. Those candidates who have passed M.Sc./Degree in Engg./AMIE/equivalent or appearing for M.Sc./Degree in Engg./AMIE/equivalent (final year) will not be considered, and hence need not apply.
Age limit: 19 years Minimum and maximum 24 years as on 01.10.2010. The upper age prescribed above is relaxable as under :
1. Up to a maximum of 5 years if a candidate belongs to SC/ST category.
2. Up to a maximum of 3 years if a candidate belongs to OBC category.
3. Up to a maximum of 5 years for candidates with disabilities (hearing impaired partially deaf (10 years for SC/ST and 08 Years for OBC candidates.
Physical Standards: Minimum Height: 160 cms. Minimum Weight: 45.5 Kgs. (Relaxable if the candidate is otherwise medically fit)
Total duration of the Training : One year. Stipend During Training: Rs. 9,300/-p.m. & One time book allowance of Rs.1,500/-. Written Examination/Selection : Short listed candidates have to appear for a Written Examination. Option to answer either in English or Hindi will be given at Written Examination/Interview. Candidates should come prepared to stay in Mysore at their own cost, for 2 days for written examination/Interview. Written examination of one hour duration will be conducted and will comprise of objective (multiple) type questions. The syllabus for the said examination will be based on the subjects at Diploma/B.Sc. level as the case may be. Those candidates qualifying in the written examination shall be short-listed for interview on the same day/following day. Final selection and ranking will be on the basis of performance of the candidate in the interview and no weightage will be given for marks scored in the written examination. The decision of this
